A stylish winter wedding.
I love a summer wedding as much as the next person but there is something really special about a wedding during the colder months. The cold crisp air, the low golden afternoon sunlight, the excuse to find a venue with an extra special interior are all reasons why I love them, Amy and Arfaz's December wedding was a perfect example of how to make a winter wedding absolutely exquisite.
Love at first sight
Amy & Arfaz met while working in Hong Kong and fell instantly in love. Amy " immediately knew he was the one" and the feelings were mutual. Arfaz was due to return to Paris a month later but changed his plans to stay with Amy. They have been inseparable ever since. Their first date was along the spectacular Hong Kong harbour, and it was there that Arfaz proposed just a year later.
A London wedding in an iconic setting.
Like many couples affected by the pandemic, their wedding plans were affected and changed several times. With just a few months and a team of incredible wedding suppliers, Amy and Arfaz managed to put together a breathtakingly beautiful wedding in London.
10-11 Carlton House Terrace is a hidden gem in the centre of Westminster. Situated just off London's iconic Pall Mall, stands this beautiful Georgian townhouse, restored in meticulous detail. With a perfect mix of modern grandeur and period detail. Amy and Arfaz fell in love with this unique venue. Rebecca K Events, their wedding planner, worked closely and meticulously with 10-11 Carlton House Terrace and the couple to make every detail of their wedding day incredibly special and look effortlessly beautiful.
Beautiful wedding details and heartfelt vows.
Amy and Arfaz held their ceremony in the romantic Music room filled surrounded by delicate white roses and gypsophila, supplied and arranged by Bloomologie London. Arfaz and Amy shared their handwritten vows and exchanged rings in front of their closest family and friends in a touching ceremony that was filled with emotion.
What the bride wore.
Amy wore a timelessly stunning wedding dress from Beautiful Day Bridal Darlington, adorned with a beautiful lace-trimmed veil and statement Gucci earrings. Amy also wore these amazing Charlotte Mills wedding shoes, shoes with a silver sixpence in the sole. Amy's gorgeous bridesmaids wore soft pink dresses from ASOS bridal.

After confetti on the staircase, family photos and canapes, I whisked the newlyweds off for 15 mins for couple portraits on The Mall, during 'golden hour' to catch the sunset just before the winter sun dipped beyond the horizon. This time is very special and I always encourage couples to take a little time during their wedding day to have a few moments together, away from their guests to breathe it all in. Sometimes it is the only time you have alone all day and if you can time it with sunset, then it can be even more romantic.
A party with live music.
Their wedding reception was so much fun. Filled with live music by the talented Stephen Murphy, laughter, and lots of dancing. The dancefloor was full of guests and the celebrations carried on into the night.

Just before I left the party, I took Amy & Arfaz aside for one last couple shot.
I left with a happy heart.
